Where to Stay for the Singapore Grand Prix
Six named hotels across Marina Bay, the Civic District and Orchard Road for Singapore Grand Prix week, mapped against the circuit.
source: Marina Bay SandsThe Marina Bay Street Circuit runs through the heart of downtown Singapore, which means where you stay for Grand Prix week matters more than almost any other trip to the city, road closures reshape how the whole area moves for the weekend. Here's the circuit itself, and the three areas below are mapped against it.
Marina Bay Street Circuit
Marina Bay: inside the circuit footprint
Marina Bay Sands
The circuit runs directly past its base, making this the shortest possible walk to grandstands and fan zones of any hotel in the city. Rooms facing the bay put the track and skyline in the same view on race night. Also the first hotel in Marina Bay to sell out for race week.

The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore
A five-minute drive or roughly a 15-minute walk from the circuit, with floor-to-ceiling bay-view rooms and a quieter footprint than sitting directly on top of the track. A step down in proximity from Marina Bay Sands, a step down in price too.
Civic District: close, without the full Marina Bay premium
The Fullerton Bay Hotel
A 100-room waterfront property with bay-facing rooms looking toward the Merlion and sections of the circuit itself. Zone 4 gates are an easy walk from the hotel, one of the more direct routes into the circuit from outside Marina Bay proper.
Swissotel The Stamford
Steps from City Hall MRT, which matters more than geographic distance once road closures are in effect, the station stays reachable when the roads around it aren't. Also close to Raffles City for a pre-race meal without a taxi.
Raffles Hotel Singapore
Singapore's most historic hotel address, a genuinely different register from a Marina Bay tower, and still within walking range of circuit zones. The trade for that history and quiet is being a longer walk to the grandstands than the waterfront Civic District options.
Orchard Road: the fallback with the deepest inventory
Shangri-La Singapore
Set in landscaped grounds a short ride from the circuit rather than a walk, this is where rooms are still findable when Marina Bay and the Civic District have sold out. Better suited to visitors prioritizing space and quiet over minimizing the commute on race day.
Goodwood Park Hotel
A heritage property just off the main Orchard strip, with the same access tradeoff as Shangri-La (a ride rather than a walk to the circuit) but closer to Orchard's restaurants and shopping for the rest of the trip.
Getting around during race week
Road closures around the circuit footprint are extensive on race weekend, the MRT becomes the most reliable way to move around the closure zone, often faster than a car regardless of neighbourhood. Factor this into your choice: a hotel that's a five-minute walk from a station can beat one that's geographically closer to the circuit but boxed in by road closures. City Hall MRT (nearest to Swissotel The Stamford and Raffles) and Bayfront MRT (nearest to Marina Bay Sands and The Ritz-Carlton Millenia) are the two stations worth checking against your shortlist.
Booking timeline
Race week accommodation in Marina Bay and the Civic District typically sells out well ahead of October. If Singapore Grand Prix is on your calendar, treat accommodation as the first booking to make, not the last, before flights, before restaurant reservations. Prices and availability above are illustrative of each property's usual position, not live rates, confirm current pricing directly with each hotel or a booking platform before committing.

Frequently asked questions
Is Marina Bay worth the premium during race week?
For most visitors, yes, you're inside or immediately beside the circuit footprint, which matters far more on a night race weekend with road closures than it would any other week.
How early should I book?
As early as possible. Marina Bay and Civic District rooms for race week sell out well before October; Orchard Road stays a viable fallback for longer into the year.
