Singapore Grand Prix: Rooftops & Nightlife

The Marina Bay Street Circuit closes at night, and Singapore's rooftops and clubs open into some of their biggest bookings of the year almost immediately after. Race week nightlife deserves its own plan, separate from an ordinary weekend in the city.

The rooftops that actually overlook the circuit

Not every skyline bar in Singapore sees the track. The circuit wraps the civic district and the bay, so the view depends on which side of the water a venue sits and how high it is.

• Lantern, The Fullerton Bay Hotel. The closest of the group to the action, and the one that trades height for proximity. It sits low over the water, so the skyline rises directly in front of you and reflects in the bay rather than sitting far below. During the Grand Prix its position near the circuit makes it one of the most atmospheric seats in the city. Ask for the edge tables, and ask early.
• CÉ LA VI, Marina Bay Sands. Level 57 of the SkyPark, looking down on the whole circuit rather than across at it. It runs as restaurant and bar early and shifts into club mode later, which makes it the one venue that can carry an entire evening without moving.
• Sky on 57, Marina Bay Sands. Same tower, same height, a fine-dining room rather than a party. The choice when the night is a dinner with a view rather than a late one.
• LeVeL33, Marina Bay Financial Centre. A microbrewery at level 33 facing the bay, noticeably more relaxed than the Marina Bay Sands rooms and a good deal easier to get into on short notice.
• NOVA, One Raffles Place. The highest open-air terrace in the CBD at level 63, with a 360-degree sweep over the bay and the financial district. Go for golden hour before the sessions start; the wind at that height is real.

The clubs, and which one to pick

Race week is the biggest booking period of the year for Singapore's clubs. International headline acts, higher covers, and tables that vanish weeks out.

• Zouk, Clarke Quay. The most storied club in the city, running since 1991, and the highest-ranked Asian club in DJ Mag's Top 100 history at a peak of number three worldwide. A multi-room complex, so the main room carries big-room energy while Phuture and the smaller rooms run more underground. If you only have one club night in the weekend, this is the safest use of it.
• Marquee, Marina Bay Sands. Three storeys, an eight-armed Ferris wheel and a multi-storey slide, and the closest thing in Asia to a Las Vegas megaclub. Go for spectacle and scale rather than subtlety, and go with a group.
• CÉ LA VI, in club mode. The late shift at the rooftop above, and the answer when you want one venue rather than a taxi between two.

Dinner before the circuit

A serious race-week evening usually starts with a table booked well ahead, and Singapore's dining rooms see the same surge as the bars. The Michelin-starred rooms in particular fill for the whole week rather than the weekend, so treat dinner as a booking to make alongside the rooftops rather than after them. If you are eating on a race day, eat early. The circuit gates open in the afternoon and the road closures around the civic district make the usual cross-town hop considerably slower than a map suggests.

Planning each night of the weekend

The 2026 schedule is a sprint weekend, which changes the shape of the three nights. Friday now ends on sprint qualifying and Saturday ends on both the sprint and Grand Prix qualifying, so the old pattern of treating Friday as a quiet practice night no longer holds. • Friday. The calmest night of the three and the easiest for walk-ins. Best spent on a rooftop rather than in a club, partly because Saturday and Sunday will not leave room for a relaxed one.
• Saturday. The busiest night in the city. Two competitive sessions finish under lights and the whole circuit park empties into town at once. This is the night to have a booking rather than a plan, and the night the clubs book their biggest names.
• Sunday. Race night, the largest crowd of the weekend and the biggest concert bill inside the circuit. Many people stay in the circuit park for the headline set rather than leaving for a club, so the city's venues fill later than on Saturday but run just as long.

A few practical rules that hold across all three:

• Book rooftops and clubs before flights if you can. These sell out earliest, and the trackside-facing tables go first of all.
• Do not stack two venues on the same night on race day. Sunday is a long, hot evening on your feet before the night even begins.
• Keep transport simple. Road closures reshape the downtown core all weekend and the MRT beats a car almost everywhere. Walking between the bay venues is usually faster than queuing for a taxi.
